During a restoration in 1992, it was found that LoofFun was originally a bay (a dark-brown horse with a black tail). He was restored to that color, but nobody wanted to ride him. So he was changed back to a Chocolate pinto and now gets his share of riders. (It was a common practice to change colors to attract riders, and to match current styles.)
