Woody was sponsored by the late Harold and Eva Merrill. They were generous supporters of the carousel project. Woody was painted to resemble Harold's real Morgan horse by the same name. Painter, Sue Wilson, took pictures of the horse and saddle to best capture Woody's spirit.
