Horse Parts
This panel is on display at the carousel. The sign reads:
These obsolete parts were removed and/or replaced during restoration. The wood pieces are original poplar. The bits (not pictured) and stirrups were original parts. The tails are from a 1977 restoration.
The bits were not replaced during the carousel's recent restoration, as they were causing the horses' jaws to crack.
The tails were collected by high school volunteers. They were recycled from hay bales.
