Echo Babe is the spare horse (maybe that should be "spare zebra") for the Republic carousel. She's put into use when other horses are out for repair. She was sponsored by Echo Bay Mining Company and carries the logo on the saddle blanket and their motto on the breast strap. She is the only new carving on the carousel and was donated by Tacoma carver, Joanne Sessions, so that Ferry County kids would have a zebra. Bette Largent painted her.
