This drive mechanism powers the carousel. It receives its power through the hydraulic lines shown at the right of the picture. The hydraulic pressure drives a pulley system, which in turn powers the cable that drives the carousel.

The drive cable is visible at the left of the picture and can be seen passing by a green tensioning pulley. Also (just barely visible where the cable enters the mechanism) is the larger drive pulley.
